Imagine Cup 2015 Winners

We brought the 30 teams from all over the world for the 2015 Imagine Cup World Finals in Seattle. These were the best of the best, selected from tens of thousands of students, and their projects are amazing. Check out the winning teams and their projects below.

World Championship

In 2014, we introduced a new element to the Imagine Cup competition. The first place teams from each of our three categories competed live, on-stage, in a Championship event judged by three VIP judges, to choose which of the three would be the overall winner of the Imagine Cup, and take home the trophy.

eFitFashion Project Clothes for Me

The project "Clothes For Me" is a online marketplace develop to sell custom made and tailored clothes in a simpler way. The goal is to increase the development of the ePMG software, which generates patterns of clothes automatically, based on the user's measures. That way, everyone can find clothes that fits perfectly, no matter what type of body you have. We aim to connect customers, seamstresses and clothing firms all over the world, offering them a channel to get in touch, with reliability and security.


Games

Today, great games come from anywhere and people play them everywhere. On their phones, on their computers, on their tablets, in their browser, with their friends, with anyone, with everyone. Powerful game engines and libraries are available for free so students can get started right away.

OVIVO is 2D puzzle-platformer. The game world is divided into black and white spaces, each of which have different gravity directions (on the white area is directed downward like in the real world, on the black it's directed upward). The character moves from the left to the right. He has an ability to transit from one color zone to another, and by doing so he can penetrate through the environment’s contours and overcome obstacles. The player’s goal is to beat the game, by solving game puzzles based on the duality of the game world and to find a symbol on every level that opens next part of the story.

Our game is Bounce 'em Up! Bounce 'em Up is a physics-based, over-the-top, competitive multiplayer action game. Lost Shadow is a 3D touch control puzzle game. The story is about some god took away the shadows of all of the people in the game and your task is to get your shadow back. Since you can only move in the shadows, you have to move objects around to clear a path for you to reach switches and the level exit.

The project called 'Spinal' aims at helping people to control their posture, preventing consequences of wrong spinal position while they are sitting,walking,working etc. It helps develop a habit of correcting back position by using special sensors and phone (Windows Phone 8).

Siymb looks towards bringing conferences and exhibitions to the twenty first century. It will shatter the fishbowls full of business cards and burn their contents to ashes. The basic idea is using an inexpensive wearable to transform the way people interact with each other during conferences and exhibitions. With a simple handshake, participants will be able to exchange details about each other. No more looking for the right profile or lost contacts. All the information you need will be available through our integrated online system.

Virtual Dementia Experience

The Virtual Dementia Experience (VDE) simulates the effects of aging and dementia in a virtual environment, so that cognitively intact people can gain an appreciation of the issues confronting people with dementia. The VDE was launched with the Dementia Learning Centre on 24th October 2013.

Mozter is a mosquito monitoring platform that leverages on the Internet of Things and cloud-based technologies to assist mosquito control officers with national mosquito surveillance and control programmes. The platform comprises of a mosquito detection sensor, a data processing server and a data visualisation platform to tell the story of the data collected from the sensor.

Ability Award

Imagine Cup has always featured innovative projects that are intended to help people living with disabilities. This year, Imagine Cup inaugurates a new award to recognize the team that has best addressed this important topic: the Ability Award.

People's Choice Award

Thousands of developers and Microsoft professionals gather every year for the TechReady conference. This year, attendees were given a chance to talk to the Imagine Cup teams, listen to their presentations, and get some hands-on time with the projects. We then asked the attendees to vote on their favorite project. The team with the most votes is the winner of our People's Choice Award!

People's Choice Award Winner: Team Mistory from Hungary

Mistory is a story-based, interactive city tour mobile application. Users can play a story and explore a city by utilizing the environment. Mistory is providing a platform, that story writers can use to create free stories and build an online community. We are also offering premium services for companies to organize events, city tours or team-building programs. Organizers can follow the game online, view their players on the map and interact with the game real-time.
